Council Meeting

That the Town of Goderich Council hereby accepts the September 6, 2022 regular Council Agenda, as presented.

That the Town of Goderich Council hereby adopts the August 29, 2022, regular Council Minutes, as printed.

That Goderich Town Council enters a Public Meeting at 4:02 p.m. with respect to Zoning By-Law Amendment Application Z03-2022 and Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment Application GOD OPA16 & GOD Z04-22 under Section 34 of the Planning Act.

That Council concur with the planning report regarding the effect of public and agency comments on the decision as the proposal is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement and conforms to the Huron County Official Plan and the Town of Goderich Official Plan.

That Council delete reference to the following permitted uses in the Zoning Amendment By-Law: building supply establishments, kennels, and veterinarian clinics.

That Council concur with the planning report regarding the effect of public and agency comments on the decision.

Council of the Corporation of the Town of Goderich held a public meeting pursuant to Section 34(12) (a) of the Planning Act RSO 1990 with respect to proposed Zoning By-Law number 124 of 2022, file number GOD Z04-21; And Whereas certain changes have been made to the proposed Zoning By-Law after the holding of the public meeting; Now therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Goderich hereby resolve pursuant to Section 34(17) of the Planning Act RSO 1990 that no further notice is to be given with respect to the proposed By-Law.

That Council refer the installation of larger bicycle racks to accommodate electric bicycles in the Town of Goderich to the Director of Operations for a report back to Council.

That the Staff Reports be received for information and the noted action be approved.

That Goderich Town Council appoint Acting Mayor Murdock to the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority.

That the correspondence be received for information.

That Council authorize staff to send a letter to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing outlining concerns with the Strong Mayors, Building Homes Act.

That the correspondence items be received for information and the noted action be approved.

That By-Laws 121, 122, 123, and 124 of 2022 be taken collectively.

That By-Laws 121, 122, 123, and 124 of 2022 be read a first and second time.

That By-Laws 121, 122, 123, and 124 of 2022 be read a third time and finally passed.

That leave be given to introduce By-Law No.125-2022 being a By-Law to confirm the proceedings of the Goderich Town Council meeting held on September 6, 2022, and that it now be read a first, second, and third time, and finally passed this September 6, 2022.

That Goderich Town Council does now adjourn at 4:56 pm to meet again at the regular meeting of Council scheduled for September 19, 2022.
